You’re Not My Doctor, I’m Fit To Run For Presidency – Tinubu Replies Peter Obi

Bola Tinubu, the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has responded to Labour Party (LP) presidential candidate Peter Obi, who called him unqualified to run in the 2023 presidential election.
Tinubu’s reaction further chastised Obi for implying that his (Tinubu’s) fans are backing him for his money, despite the fact that he is well and healthy.
This was said in a statement issued on Tuesday by Bayo Onanuga, the APC Presidential Campaign Council’s Director of Media and Publicity.
“Since he is not Asiwaju’s doctor and is not privy to his medical record, Obi has again disgracefully elevated what has for long been a beer parlor gossip and social media fabrication being perpetuated by his IPOB supporters,” the statement said in part.
“In his typical fashion, Obi is repeating misinformation, which has no place in a decent political campaign.”
“We believe that political leaders should be guided in their comments and sticklers for the truth, but Obi has thrown caution to the wind, declaring on matters on which he lacks moral and professional ability.”
“We want to make it abundantly obvious to all detractors of the All Progressives Congress presidential candidate, Asiwaju Tinubu, that he is not ill.” He is in good health. A man who works 20 hours a day seeing people and strategizing solutions to Nigeria’s problems cannot be considered unwell. We take the risk of saying that our candidate is as fit as a fiddle.
“We also want to teach Peter Obi and his horde of naive followers that Tinubu’s millions of fans across the country are not supporting him for financial gain.” Supporters of Asiwaju Tinubu are pulling for him because they believe in his demonstrable ability to give progressive leadership for our country.
“They support him because they believe in his capacity as a transformative leader who previously made a historic impact in Lagos State and is capable of doing so throughout Nigeria.”
“On this alone, Tinubu outperforms even the perennial presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar.” By all leadership metrics, he is not in the same category as the rabble-rousing Peter Obi,” the Presidential Campaign Council stated.
The campaign council, on the other hand, warned Peter Obi to “desist from politics of deception,” adding, “We counsel him to canvass on subjects and, for once, give his hollow campaign some legitimacy by not spouting lies.”
