UAE imposes visa ban on Nigerians, now rejecting visa applications

 

Nigerians are not permitted to enter the United Arab Emirates without a visa.

The United Arab Emirates’ immigration officials also stated that all filed applications are rejected and that costs are not recoverable in a notification that was sent to its business partners in Nigeria, including travel firms, on Friday, October 21.

The Dubai officials did not provide a justification for the choice but did state that all applications are pending while problems between the governments of the UAE and Nigeria are worked out.

The message stated;

“All filed applications for Dubai have been denied. It is universal for Nigerians, and approvals are now being postponed.

Please advise your clients to file new C2=A0 applications once the dispute has been settled between the two governments.

A source at Wakanow who confirmed that the warning was sent told the following to Punch:

“Yes, it was released yesterday. Although the Dubai immigration department could not specify when the suspension will end, everything is currently on hold.

A customer service representative for Air Peace also commented on the situation, stating that passengers with current visas are still being flown to Dubai.

The spokesperson further assured the publication that any modifications will be properly announced.
