After almost a decade of being off the screens, Big Brother Nigeria made its way back to the screens with one of the housemates from the very first edition, Ebuka Obi-uchendu hosting the show.
The show kick started with so much fun and excitement it has come to be known for on Sunday, the 22nd of January, 2017 with the unveiling of the housemates who moved straight into the house.
Here’s a profile of all the housemates of the 2017 Big Brother Nigeria show.
Hammersmith, England born Uriel was the first to step into the Brother Nigeria house. She has four diverse siblings who are all males and are involved in a range of things from business to art. She’s spontaneous, passionate and a nature lover. She loves to cook, but hates cleaning up after cooking. She likes to think of herself as a master of organised mess!
The second housemate to be unveiled is a ship manager turned fitness entrepreneur who is based in Port Harcourt, Nigeria. He believes in converting hurt into motivation and uses his life to inspire self-care through sustainable agriculture and self-care. If he emerges winner, he hopes to “invest and empower” the prize money of 25 MILLION Naira.
Cocoice has a good relationship with her brother since her mother became deceased in 2001. She has experienced a number of unlucky romantic relationships, which is why she’s presently focusing on advancing her singing career.
His dream is to create his own digital company, even though he presently works as a works as a Statistician. He loves challenging himself and being a rebel which is why he applied to be a housemate and lives apart from his family in Lagos with them being in Abuja. He has four siblings and doesn’t really consider himself that important since he’s the middle child. He has a girlfriend who he hardly sees because she’s a practising lawyer who works long hours.
Born of royalty in Onne, Eleme, Rivers State and the 11th out of 21 children, this Mass Communication graduate is single and her last relationship ended because she couldn’t handle the long-distance that caused a lot of quarrels. She hates being disrespected and would give anyone that does so a mouth full. and they quarreled a lot.
Tony AKA “whipped cream”
An acclaimed choreographer, ThinTallTony was part of the very first big brother Nigeria show as a performer but has since expanded to into acting, writing and poetry. He’s a self-confessed team player who believes in winning for all and celebrating good times.
Gifty schooled in Accra, Ghana before moving back to Lagos, Nigeria to pursue her dreams of being an actress and supermodel. She has acted in a number of Nollywood movies and counts her mother as her inspiration.
Soma has a Pastor and Musician’s father and also a good singer himself. He credits his mother for encouraging him to pursue a career in Music which led to him deferring his studies at university. He’s in a long-distance relationship.
Abisola or Bisola has she prefers to be called may be rendered from the very first season of project fame west Africa where she came fifth. She says she was a spoilt child till the age of 8 when her well-off family hit some major hurdles. This necessitated her relocation to rural Nigeria where she lived with cousins. Bisola is also a mother of one – a 7 year old daughter who told her to go and come back with the N25million cash prize.
MIYONSE attended a culinary school where he learnt to be a chef. He’s today a head chef and has been in a relationship with his girlfriend, also a chef, for two months now. He hates being taken for granted.
Edo state born Tboss has 7 tattoos and over 7 piercings. She says she struggled with loneliness and making friends in primary school and which made her attract the wrong crowd often. She studied at the University of Lagos for nine months before going to Romania to complete her studies. She’s an occasional drinker.
EFE is a graduate of economics who moved to Lagos because that is “where it all happens’’ and is presently working his way up to earn recognition. He enjoys cooking and is confident his easy-flowing attitude will help him win over Housemates’ plots.
