The Super Falcons, Nigeria’s women’s football team, have returned to training.

After receiving $2,800 from Nigeria Football Federation, they returned to training on Thursday, according to PUNCH Sports Extra.

Over unpaid allowances, the players boycotted Wednesday’s training in Casablanca (Morocco) to prepare for their 2022 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations third place clash against Zambia.

Osasu Obayiuwana, a journalist and top NFF official wrote that the Super Falcons were paid $2300 per player. An additional $500 was received overnight to make it $2800.

The official stated that the payment represented all camp allowances due to Morocco.

“What’s left is the tournament match bonus (of approximately $10,000 to $11,000).

The nine-time winners will take on Zambia to battle for bronze at the 12th Women Africa Cup of Nations in Casablanca, Morocco.

With nine wins of the WAFCON title, the Falcons are Africa’s most successful women’s soccer team. They are the only African team that has qualified for every World Cup.
