‘I used to beg to perform, now I get alerts everyday’ – Iyanya reflects success of 2022

Afropop singer, Iyanya has recounted moments in 2021 December when he had to beg to perform at shows.

He admitted that at this time last year, there was only one paid show performance.

The Kukere master admitted that he begged to be allowed to play for free at two events because he wanted to maintain his reputation.

But a year later, Iyanya thanks God for altering the story because he has no open dates for the month.

He claims that this December is by far his busiest yet because he receives show notices every morning.

He stated: “In December of last year, I played at three shows—one paid and the other two I wasg to perform at simply to be noticed.

“I wake up to show notifications every day in December 2022; we haven’t had a December this busy since 2017.” 20+ performances every month. God be praised.

Iyanya previously provoked conflicting responses online when he discussed the types of people in the music industry.

He had used Twitter to express his opinions to his coworkers about the phony lifestyle.

The singer claims that when people say “my blood,” they should be worried or doubt their coworkers.

Iyanya claims that a lot of his coworkers speak without meaning to and that the music business is filled with far too many con artists.

If somebody calls you “my blood” in this business, tell them whether you have red or white blood, he wrote. You all say things that are not true. This game has far too many bogus players.
